What do Psychologists do?

All Psychologists are qualified in the scientific study of the mind and what influences behaviour. Psychological practice covers common mental health conditions and some psychologists specialise in particular areas, such as Education, Forensics, Neuro etc. Psychologists use a range of psychological and psychotherapeutic approaches, such as CBT, Interpersonal Therapy, Narrative Therapy etc. to help you to explore your difficulties and help you to process what is happening, thinking about symptoms, triggers and supporting you in developing more helpful patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
